After over a decade in business, we're getting ready to close the store.

Our specialty has always been high quality goatskin work and garden gloves made in the USA

but the person that does our sewing is retiring and there are no replacements. So that's the end

of American Heritage gloves.

We don't want to sell only imported gloves so we've decided it's

time to close shop and move on.

We appreciate all the loyal customers we've had over the years.

We will be having a going out of business sale as soon as we complete an inventory. You can be

notified when the sale will start by signing up for our newsletter here.

Wishing you all the best from all of us at Bear Wallow Gloves!

  • You'll never have to worry again about your hands and arms when pruning your Rose Bushes or Berry Vines... not as long as you're wearing your "Protector" Rose Pruning Gauntlet Gloves from American Heritage. Yes, they're made right here in the USA!

  • These beautiful gloves are made from soft, yet durable goatskin long considered by the experts to be the longest wearing and have the best puncture resistance of any natural material. You get real protection ...

  • The 12" gauntlets protect your whole forearm, not just part of it and are made from split cowhide that's just stiff enough to stay in place but soft enough to flex with your arm to make working with these gloves a real pleasure.

  • Huge range of sizes ...
Nowhere else will you find rose gauntlet gloves in sizes ranging from 6 all the way through 13 (that's equivalent to XX-Small through XXX-Large) and half sizes too!

    Well worth the money

Posted by Dick R on Aug 26th 2011

I received my gloves last week, I have some very large rose bushes that require regular pruning and dead heading, thorny citrus trees and palms. I used the gloves the day after receiving them on the roses and palmetto palms and am glad to report no thorn issue. Very helpful when reaching into the center of a bush. I just ordered a second pair.

    Impressed

Posted by Donna on Aug 3rd 2011

Thank You!!! My father loved his gloves!! He has reached the age when anything brushes up against his arms, they seem to bruise. He loves working in his yard, and this was the perfect solution! My son in law works for a large construction company related to the chemical industry-- he was so impressed with the gloves. Thank you for getting them to me so promptly and also for the very kind card you sent to me.

    Great gloves

Posted by TBM on Jul 4th 2011

These are GREAT gloves! They're tough, yet supple and the fit is very good. I spent last weekend pruning roses without these and have the battle scars to show. I'm really looking forward to the rest of my rose and barbary pruning this weekend. Stop searching and just buy these gloves. They're that good.

    Outstanding Made-in-the-USA product

Posted by Serena on Jul 3rd 2011

I just wanted to say how gorgeous the beauty and craftsmanship of these gloves are! The leather truly protected my hands from the tearing and friction of shoveling over 240 lbs. of dirt in one day and being a very slight petite person, the gloves have been a lifesaver! I have shoveled this much dirt on several occasions and the gloves are so supple and strong. And of course, they provide 100% protection against rose thorns. The stitching, the design, the seam work are perfection! The gloves are a truly outstanding made-in-the-USA product, so beautiful to look at as well. A BIG THANK YOU to Bear Wallow Gloves!

    Absolutly the Best!

Posted by ForesthillJohn on Jun 30th 2011

I bought a pair of these gloves in 2007 at a home and garden show. I live in the Sierra foothills and have 3 acres of oak and pine trees, along with over 100 trees I have planted. These gloves have saved my forearms from countless cuts from cut oak logs, pine needles, and a multitude of other trees and plants. I have gone through many, many "high end" leather gloves, but these gloves keep coming back for more. After 4 years of use one finger is starting to show through. I got more than my monies worth and am buying two pairs(one for my wife). These are the best, most comfortable gloves I have ever owned. They may seem pricy, but in this case you most certainly get what you pay for. Haven't had to experience it yet, but I think they would give protection from a misplaced hand too near to a rattlesnake. And what could be better than made in the United States!

Very happy with these gloves. First gloves I found that protect against punctures and gashes from rose thorns and palm branches. Thanks!

    No more picking out thorns!

Posted by Ted on Mar 16th 2011

It's really a blessing to be able to put on the gloves, work on the thorny devils and then come inside and take off the gloves and pick up my violin and play. No more picking out thorns, no more bandages! hooray. I will spread the word about your gloves among all the gardeners I know.

    What a joy

Posted by Ted on Feb 26th 2011

My gloves arrived last night. They fit very well, and this afternoon I put them on and tackled pruning my fiercest climber. What a joy. I pruned and pruned and filled a garbage can with clippings. and not a puncture, scratch or tear. The Protectors are the BEST gloves I've ever used for pruning roses!! Almost as good as not getting thorns in my fingertips was not tearing my shirt sleeves on the spines as I reached into the bush to cut unwanted growth. Thank you for providing a great produce and great service too.
